Arts University Bournemouth was founded in 1884. It is located in the English town of Bournemouth.

The Faculty of Art and Design and the Faculty of Media and Performance offer 23 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate programmes. These courses are validated for a maximum of five years, with a periodic review conducted during the final year using a process similar to that used for validation, but with the inclusion of up to two student representatives to the panel.

Services for International Students

The university currently has almost 400 international students from over 60 nations enrolled. Students are welcome to drop by the International Office for a casual conversation or to get answers to any questions or concerns they may have.

English for Academic Purposes appointments, an International Student Society as part of the Students Union, Country Ambassadors who are always there if you need a friend (and who run events throughout the year that you can attend or participate in), and excellent Careers and Student Services departments are also available to students.

Accommodation

Bournemouth is at least 20% less expensive to live and study in than London, with the added bonus of being directly on the coastline with 10 miles of sandy beach! We have a variety of Halls of Residence to choose from, each offering something different - from being right on campus to being in the heart of the city (and walking distance to the beach! ), to be in the quiet of residential streets. There is something for everyone, from modern self-contained studio flats to more traditional en-suite rooms in cluster flats or shared living houses. The following are the locations of our halls:

  • Madeira Road Lansdowne, Bournemouth town centre
  • Skyline, Lansdowne, Bournemouth town centre

Alternatively, a number of their student’s look to live in shared rented accommodation in areas including Bournemouth town centre, Winton, Charminster and Ensbury Park. Private rental housing is frequently less expensive, and some students choose to live in the same house during their time at AUB.
